Asus, Acer, MSI and Dell laptops equipped with AMD Ryzen 4000H
AMD Ryzen 4000 mobile processors, announced at CES 2020, are beginning to be incorporated into various manufacturers laptop ranges. A brief description of the increasingly coming machines onto the market.
At the beginning of the year, AMD took advantage of CES to raise the curtain on its line of Ryzen 4000H processors for two-reference laptops, the Ryzen 7 4800H and Ryzen 5 4600H. The company relaunched the attack in mid-March by adding the Ryzen 9 4900H to the list, codenamed “Renoir.”
For a reminder, the Ryzen 4000H uses an similar technological base to the one used on the Ryzen 3000 desktop computers. Hence, the design is Zen 2 and the 7 nm gravure. A graphics circuit is designed based on the Vega architecture-clearly, AMD is not yet able to incorporate the Radeon RX 5000 RDNA architecture with processors. The new series promises to be especially swift in calculations and very energy efficient compared with the Ryzen 3000H.
In recent weeks AMD partners have launched many laptops equipped with these chips. Some of these references are coming into the market from April-for the later in June. Although Intel remains overwhelmingly dominant on the segment of the laptop, it is clear that AMD chips are increasingly present, both in classic setups and in gaming.
Asus: Zephyrus G14
Asus first offers the Zephyrus G14, a relatively original gaming laptop with its behind – the-screen ambient display, an originality that remains optional (AniMe Matrix). Small and light (2 cm for 1.7 kg), it is obviously available in many configurations: Processor-side Ryzen 9 4900H or Ryzen 7 4800H, and graphics-card-side GeForce RTX 2060 or GeForce GTX 1660 Ti.The 14 “screen can be Full HD at 60 Hz, Full HD at 120 Hz or WQHD at 60 Hz – all being in IPS technology and the last two being validated adaptive sync. Storage is left to an NVMe SSD 512 GB or 1 TB.
Acer: Swift 3 and Aspire 5
The new AMD chips will be welcomed at Acer, the Swift 3 and Aspire 5 sets. Thus the Swift 3 SF314-42 will be available in a Ryzen 4700U (low consumption) version. Pretty slim and compact (1.7 cm for 1.2 kg), it houses a 14 “Full HD (IPS) screen and an SSD which can scale up to 512 GB. The Aspire 5 is based on the Ryzen 5 4500U (lower consumption again) and a 15.6” Full HD (IPS) panel.
MSI: Bravo 15 for the players
We’re continuing with MSI whose Bravo 15 is optimized for players. You must select the processor: a Ryzen 7 4800H, or a Ryzen 5 4600H. The organization also has faith in AMD for the graphics card, a Radeon RX 5500 M-enough to ensure compliance with SmartShift technology to help control the CPU and graphics card’s energy budget. The Full HD and IPS is the 15.6 “screen. It operates at 120 Hz and is adaptive-sync compatible. The storage takes the form of a 512 GB NVMe SSD.
Dell G5 15 SE: new chassis and glitter
Let’s end with Dell, whose Special Edition Ryzen G5 15 is a complete AMD setup. The exact nature of the processor (of the Ryzen 4000H) is not yet known, but the graphics card is well specified for its part: a Radeon RX 5600 M-enough to ensure compatibility with SmartShift here too. The 15.6 “screen is 144 Hz with IPS and Full HD.The 15.6 ‘screen is IPS and Full HD at 144 Hz. The SSD can reach 1 TB and is fitted with a maximum hard drive of 2 TB. Note that the casing is completely new and has a “glitter coating,’ which we leave with you.
