The Nokia 3310 is back. On the occasion of the Mobile World Congress, Nokia has introduced a revised and updated version of her most famous mobile. Those who expected to find a copy of the phone that mythical will be to their costs : if it recalls its ancestor, this new Nokia 3310 has been extensively revamped. It now features a color screen of 2.4 inches, camera 2 megapixels, and the design is reviewed and corrected.

The gear will be sold for 49 euros, a price which could attract many nostalgic memories of the brand… or those who simply seek a mobile booster. For this price, it is obviously far away from the smartphone : the new Nokia 3310 is a mobile 2G, with which it has to relearn the T9 for texting !

It does, however, listen to the radio (with an FM tuner built in) and play MP3. Its storage memory is very low (16 Mb !) but expandable with support for MicroSD. In contrast, Nokia will ensure a record-breaking battery life : 31 days of standby time and 22 hours of talk time !

The new 3310 will also mark the return of the first mobile game : Snake. The principle remains unchanged, but the game is now in color and includes a few extra modes.

Launched in 2000, the 3310 was a resounding success, whereas the use of the mobile phone was exploding a bit everywhere in the world. Nokia, which has long dominated the market, has missed the turn of the all touch, initiated by the launch of the iPhone in 2007. After having virtually disappeared –because of the redemption of its mobile business by Microsoft – the brand was re-launched last year, and has been playing since the chord of nostalgia. Beyond the 3310, Nokia has introduced new Android smartphones in Barcelona.
