Today HTC unveiled its HTC One (M8) on the occasion of a special event simultaneously in the cities of London and New York. A high-end device which revolved around high expectations, intensified since the disappointment generated by the presentation of the Galaxy S5 last month in Barcelona. The new HTC is it up to his expectations, this is what we will try to see.
Thanks to many leaks we’ve seen scroll on canvas, in recent weeks, we already knew almost all HTC One (M8), starting with a design that is very close to the 2013 model. Is this a good or a bad thing? Hard to say because although some will blame HTC for not innovated enough, why change a winning team? Especially when we know that the Taiwanese has invested enough in this unibody enclosure made of aluminum.

Near the HTC One design (2013)
The HTC One (M8) maintains the same aluminum brushed design as its predecessor in higher dimensions due to the increase of the screen size that passes 4.7 to 5 inches. This similarity of design will not necessarily unanimity with everyone but HTC seems, for its part, very satisfied.
Note that even if, contrary to its competitors at the time, the latest HTC will not waterproof, however, splash resistant, the aluminum hull covering the connection ports, it is always that.
A photo sensor UltraPixel
When we talk about the camera, it is always the UltraPixel technology that is in the spotlight, however, this year is a double dorsal sensor (4 + 2.1 Megapixels) that offer the HTC One (M8 ). However when taking views, only 4 Mpix sensor will be asked to capture the other serving only to optimize the development by providing a second angle.
A new feature called Dimension allows, moreover, to achieve 3D effects using two sensors simultaneously. A rather unconvincing feature at first sight.
Finally, unfortunately no 4K video from the HTC One (M8).
An improved battery life
Between the 2013 model and the 2014 model, we pass a 2300 mAh battery 2600 mAh. It’s better but it is unfortunately below the competition. Moreover, in the same way as Samsung, there is a function named Extreme Power Saving Mode to improve the battery life.
Thus, according to the promises made by HTC, the HTC battery (M8) could take two weeks in standby when fully charged and 15 hours once discharged to 5% by limiting the functionality of the device.
The software overlay HTC Sense 6.0
Great new features are expected on the side of the overlay HTC Sense 6.0 especially at usability with the addition of many gestures. While swype up will access applications running, access to Google Now will be a scan of the screen from top to bottom. Like the LG G2, the screen of the HTC One (M8) can unlock a simple double-tap.
Price and release date
HTC One (M8) is expected to cost $ 649.
